Why do Catholics say we are shoving our religion down people's throat when we share the Gospel with them?

I have had several catholics message me for no reason other than to try to shove their religion down my throat, backed up by scripture that they interpret differently than i do (a concept they cant seem to grasp). All I say is that I disrespectfully disagree and they get very defensive and argue nothing.
