Why would anyone WANT to repeal the 2nd Ammendment?

Why would anyone want to repeal the 2nd ammendment, when it is the ammendment that gaurentees the protection of all of our other rights? The founding fathers made it VERY clear that all citizens have the right to bear arms. We give the government power, not the other way around. If we don't like their actions, it states in the constitution, we can use the 2nd ammendment to alter or abolish it.
