Some way for kids to play with the hose or sprinkler in the AZ desert boonies?

Seriously, I need some ideas how we can cool off using only the hose and other stuff around the house. We live in the desert-cactus-rocks-sun and can't figure a way to play without killing ourselves on our terrain. I am currently w/out vehicle so walmart is not an option for anything. Just a mom, some hot bored kids and a hose. please no "smart "remarks....Thanks
