Why don't I have video on my newly built PCs first start up?

well i ould think it would be the board. you don't need to remove itto figure that out. if it's not putting anything out on the video either onboard or the card, i think it's a pretty safe umption. i would try it running onboard without the card in and see where that gets you. it that works, you may need to make a change or 2 in the bios to allow the use of the video card. i would think you've tried this already since you are building your own rig, you have to know something about it. good luck.
